How can I prevent myself from getting banned

I tried affiliate marketing years back for the first time with commission junction.
I email marketed on craigslist and managed to rack in over 600$ in free signups within 3 weeks.
unfortunately for me cj refused me payment tracked and marked my emails as spam thus assumingly a violation of their TOS.

upon entering college I'm in need of extra funds, can one of you gurus offer me aid on how to prevent the affiliate program to track the traffic thus banning me. also awaring me of any other measures I should take to guarantee success as I find my self to be quite ignorant in this category.

btw, for extra funds, you can built a small web site or a blog site, and be an affiliate of software vendor on regnow or plimus platform.

I went throught CJ's ToS, and it actually says we cannot market through emailing.

my question is, what if it is people who asked for a specific product and put their email to contact them? am I able to send them an email with my offer (affiliate link to what they need)?

CJ tracks traffic. No way around that. Unless you direct traffic to your website and they click the ad, then you have to mark your marketing as special program and give a detailed explanation as to how you market. You can buy opt-in lists, but then again if you email them with the affiliate link, you must provide that information in your special programming explanation. If you just send the opt in list the link to your website, then you dont have to put that in the explanation. Basically, you can do whatever the hell you want to drive traffic to your own website, but not directly to the affiliate offer..unless noted in your account. Hope that answered your question.

You can definitely market through emails, all the big uk affiliates do it; Topcashback, Quidco, Myvouchercodes etc.

Just make sure the programmes you are joining are happy. You may also need to send a sample email to the account management or network quality teams should you be asked.
