I'd say after 200 downloads in 8 months, you're not going to make any money with that plugin.
If you have released it on WP, then it's GPL, so you can't really sell it (well you can, but it's always available out there for free). The way most plugin vendors make money is upselling to a better version (if you can get on envato etc.), or selling premium support.
Either:
- Drum up a big userbase, create demand, and sell support, or
- Make a bigger, better plugin and sell it on envato.

You can limit by yourself the features of your plugin, and find 1 feature every people who download your plugin want to use and are ready to pay to get it (SEO and Social plugins). Some newbies need installation support. You can also offer support to perfectly set up your plugin according to the specific needs of your customers (Cache plugins). There are a lot of ways to monetize your plugin. Just check how your competitors monetize their ones, copy and improve !
