how can I make my forum alive?

Hi.

I own a forum there are around 90 visits a day and I have no idea how to grow it because people that enter doesn't make any topics/threads - anyone have any idea how to grow it and make it more I don't know.. "engage-able" ?

You'll need a body, 2 neck bolts, an operating table, beakers and test tubes, and a lightning rod to give the body a "spark of life".

Before you complain, here's a serious answer. Some forum owners actually create many fake accounts (since nobody wants to join an empty forum) with different personalities and then they then promote their forum on sites where their target audience tend to visit.

Create fake accounts and post yourself. Then hire other people to do it.

Be aggressive on social media - if you find someone on twitter discussing a topic related to your forum, start a topic then link them to it and ask what they think.

You'll need to be more creative

For example, share something important related to your niche, but your visitor need to reply the thread to see the share

Or create a private sub-topic with interesting title that can be entered if member has 100 post

Posting, posting and posting, create fake accounts, start topics and keep posting, even after 15 or 16000 post you will need to keep posting. It is hard work. If you can find people to help you it will be much better and faster. It is very hard work to get a forum running, unless the name is BHW

I think paying some people to post is a good start, and add in some creativity as above.

Create fake accounts and spend 6 months or more creating threads and answer them with other fake accounts. Your forum have to look alive in order for people to signup.

When building a forum its best to have a group of people already interested in it before you launch.

99% of forums fail because of this. I own a 10 year old forum with 30 active members and over 100,000 posts... I found that group of people before I did anything and I knew they would enjoy it.
