Hi guys, I make software for my own needs every now and then, but I was thinking of making some of them public. They're just handy tools for webmasters etc.
Without asking money for the software directly, how can I monetize it? It's my experience that CPA offers just put people off, and they'll just go look for something similar elsewhere, or a mirror-link of my software on some other site. That's what I do anyway, I don't like spam in my mailbox.
So I was thinking just adsense, a banner to the left of my webpage that offers the download? Or is it possible to show banners in-software somehow? That'd probably make the program get a bad rep, though. Any ideas?
