I'm looking to start making money online but I only have around $50 to do it. I don't really want to get into MNS+adsense...

So what kind of methods can I do with such a small amount of money? If anyone could link me to a thread or something I'd be very appreciative!

Won't get very far with an attitude like your username...

But id say start with writing content or designing etc...what skills do you have?

Heh don't worry my username is a joke.

Well I do a lot of writing, and that's where I get most of my income from. I'm not very good at SEO. I kind of want something that can get me started relatively quickly, but I'm looking into anything at this point.

If you get most your income from writing, continue to write. Then, gather up all your money and then ask what you can do with it. :)
Read up on BHW is also another thing. You've got everything you need right here, you don't even need money for some methods, but I would suggest you just save up until you need it really badly.

Well one of the really cool things is that I can make more money by writing to fund my IM adventures! I wanted to get into CPA+Youtube or something but I'm not sure how to set up a content locker on the website.

Plus I'm under 18 and I don't think many CPA companies will like that

What are some good methods to passive income?

reinie, content writing is certainly a great way to earn money, while you learn about what you are looking to do "when you grow up". I don't say that to pick on your age, but to highlight that you are in a great spot to learn while you earn and really refine and practice what you are researching. Best of luck to you and your ventures!

Writing content has always been an easy way for me to make money, but I want to try and get something automated going. Are MNS sites really the best way to get passive income?

What are some good passive income methods I should look into? I'm sort of reluctant to get into MNS cause people can destroy your work and google changes their algorithm a lot.

You're English seems good, so it seems you are probably from the USA, Canada or the UK. Why don't you apply for a day job? $50 is nothing.

Well, as I said continue to write until you get more money than $50 (say maybe $100-$200) so you can do something good with it. It's always easier to make money if you've already got money, so why not continue your writing, get a good income from that and reinvest your $$$?

Why not try to get a real job, and with the money you have left after bills, try and make some sites adding content to your site every day/week. you will not make lots of $ with only $50!

Well guys I'm only 17 so labor laws have work restrictions, but if I write the whole day I can make way more than I would at a day job.

I used to work at Cold Stone Creamery, I was only given 2 days and they were 4-5 hour shifts. Through writing, If I work all day no goofing off and there is a decent amount of work up, I can make $50-$120.

I DO have more than $50 to spend, I just wasn't sure of the amount I should invest yet. I actually have around $300.

Essentially writing is my day job.

I also forgot to add, my family is very poor and I want to do this to help them out. Gas money is currently a problem for us and my parents having to drive me to work everyday would take a lot of gas. I will be learning to drive this summer though!

Also my main goal for Summer is to start making money :)

start an authority website.
if you like writing, find a niche you are interested in, products to promote, or just adense. (products will make you alot more money)

read the stickies here :

and get going! that will eventually make you an automated income

while you're doing that

do this too

:):):)

I'm kind of worried about starting an Authority website because of one reason; people can spam crappy backlinks and totally kill it, plus google's algorithm changes can destroy it too. But I guess if it's an authority site I can rank it back up pretty quickly.

I have no experience in SEO so I'll probably buy a lot of services to help it rank. :D I might try this actually! All I'll have to do is just keep updating the site with articles.. If I can get one authority site making $50 a day I'd be ecstatic!

The main thing I'm worried about is competition and all of that. Also how would I design the site? Should I just use wordpress or is that not good for an authority site? (Sorry had to edit out your links so I could post!)

+1 For the YouTube + CPA method. It's slow, painful but it'll start making you a buck here and there.

A washing machine could fall out of the sky and squash you. a car could come through the wall of your house and run you over. a leprechaun could come at you with a knife etc etc. dont worry about bad things that haven't happened yet.

manage your risk. don't do anything black hat, write good content (content is king) and let the links come to you. since you don't want to mess anything up, just take it easy and let things fall where they may. do linkbuilding yourself with web 2.0's that you do yourself plus guest posts. its requires work, but now you are safe from algorithm changes penalties and updates.

don't do this. see above. what might work no will get you penguin/panda/platypus slapped

honestly im no expert either. i used to have a bunch of spam sites back in the day, gibbiresh made for adsense sites. im currently working on my first authority site. the stickies in the white hat seo section will help. here are my tips:
- get a good sized niche. the low search stuff they make MNS's require too much work for too little payoff
-evergreen niche. golf, skiing, sailing = seasonal. basketball, weightloss, cars = evergreen.
-care about what youre doing. (you'll work more and better)
and something ive recently learned about "site conversion startegies" how many of your visitors are converting? uniqe vistor to sale ratio. change your writing to maximize this. that way 100 visitors a day will make you the $50 you want instead of 15-20. you need to google around on techniques/ how to write you stuff.

:)

Mak111, you have been a huge help to me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, I wish I could give you more rep :)!

So I can learn about all of this in the White Hat SEO section? Even though it may take a while to get started I can do a lot of this myself and I won't have to spend a lot of money on people backlinking for me..

Maybe I'll do something with computers since it's been a huge interest of mine for a long time and I'll enjoy writing about it :)

If I wanted to do something that requires less time but makes a decent amount of money and can be outsourced (which is increasing the scale it's done on, right) what would I be going after? I have a lot of time over the summer and I might want to kick off something faster than a Authority site.

I am still heavily considering an authority site though.

I made some more money, I have around $350 now to use!

i would for sure go with what mak111 says if you don't mind writing. i hate writing so i can't do an authority site lol. from other posts i've read it may take months before you see any return so might just got to be patient and keep writing.
