As one of my streams of revenue, I'm running a gossip blog site. It's Word Press Based and has been in operation for over 1 year.

My traffic exploded in Jan. from 30 or 40 hits to about 500 per day. A lot of that was SEO, some great Plug ins, and my content writing is a lot better then other similar sites.

I am ranked on page one spot one for several news stories but not enough to get me the traffic that I need.

Monetization methods are: infolinks, adsense, some CPA Offers (which never, ever, ever convert). ...Did I say never! I just started using infolinks so I don't have any totals, but adsense is about $250 per month.

I'm open to all suggestions - I need Perez Hilton money!!!!

Thanks in advance..

Saturday night bumpity bump.

You could consider making a network of gossip sites and get your friends to help write and run them and you could have a better flow of traffic and most likely more cash! Also if that's to gutsy for you just keep doing the good old SEO (especially a lot of BACKLINKS).

Either whitehat SEO or start using scrapebox to build backlinks. Cosnidering the niche the scrapebox could work well if you write some decent comments.

I read a lot about scrapbox, but what is the change that google notice the use of it and give you the google slap? and how do i avoit it.

use social networking along u r blog and try to promote niche related offers...

I started using a simple twitter plugin called tweet&follow and my traffic doubled.

Try it I am only tweeting 1 account per blog but if you throw in proxy support you could have 15 accounts tweeting off one blog. Load up a few thousand common keywords.. and instant traffic.

I am also use to google webmaster tools but there is no result for my site.

Thanks for the tips guys, the obvious stuff I'm doing already, like backlinking, facebook and social media icons.

zb.ouykcuf - I'm going to look for that plug in right now, and O_inspiration - same thing I will look into PPV and sponsored article writing.

Thanks for the tips....time for some action!!

If there are any more ideas - keep them coming!

Work on some long tail keywords that aren't time dependent. "Miley Cyrus rumors" "celebrity gossip" etc as opposed to specific events. I'd assume a lot of your articles are based on the current gossip; however, that is going to lose interest and searches over time. If you gear your articles keywords towards a combination of long term and short term I think you'd be more successful.

Your goal would be to get more traffic ultimately. Monetizing it in different ways may bring more or less money, but the sure way to make more is to get more traffic. I feel like long tail keywords could help you out. If you have done minimal SEO maybe you don't even need to go after long tail and would be able to go after some of the bigger keywords.

Update your content in a regular interval and send the links to the popular social bookmarking sites. people loves to visit the updated sites.

2 words... keyword optimization. Use your keyword + UK places will drive specified audience to your site. :D
