How can I get users on a new forum?

Good day to all..
I am back with one more ques today.. hehehe

I was wondering how can I get users on a new forum..
any ideas will be appreciated..

Either get a lot of traffic, or start a mailing list and try and get a couple thousand on the list, then mail out the list that you set up a forum. If traffic is low and no one is posting people won't stick around.

yes as this is new forum.. so I have a little traffic, but the problem is people are not sticking ..
I will try email campaign now..

Have you done forum posting? I know some people don't think it works very well but....depending on your niche it can work great.

If you cant make it, fake it... Pay for forum posters to get the ball rolling. the thing is no one wants to stick around on a forum that has no members. Go to DP you can pick up posters there for really cheap.

You'll have to do it for a little while, then the real users will slowly start to creep in.

Populate your forum first,or make it look like its populated,then go for the traffic

Hire 5 people to talk to each other to make it look like an active forum. It would help if they'll use different accounts to make it look like there are hundreds of active members on the site.

But most importantly, is your forum interesting? Does it have a target market?
