Browse around forum and you will find great info about link building... no one will give you anything on silver plate remember that.

There are 3 main methods to get quality links :
a) create profile with signature at forums related to Your niche - join discussion and post quality content - build relationship with users
b) try to comment articles/blogs from Your niche - again be a part of discussion main target is to get attention not the link
c) if You already got traffic think about exchanging banners / link with Your competition

Join guest posting groups on Facebook, few times it's free and few times you can exchange links (don't do a lot of reciprocal exchanges).
I you have A website and a person has B website, you can exchange backlinks on A website for his C website and B with D!
In this way your guest posting strategy can be very strong and effective

To get free backlinks:
1. if you've scrapebox then harvest links related to your searches and then filter out the high pr with low obl's and manually create links via writing helpful comments over there.
2. You can do the same for forum profile backlinks as well.
3. If you've writing skills and can guest blog then write for other blogs related to your niche and you'll get a link in author box there.
