Hello There,

What is the best way and how long does it take to get rid of Google Penguine penalty. I just go about removing spammy backlinks as far as I can.

Thank you

that's the million dollar question right now, my brother from another mother...

I don't think Penguin is a spammy links penalty. That was February's update. My sites with spammy links got hit then. My pure white hats were untouched. Now this latest update? I had 1 site where I built out 10 pages of unique content before I realised I had targeted a keyword that was not going to convert as well as another opportunity. As I had already published those 10 pages I simply put adsense on it and let it be (for about 2 years now). It was happily ranking pos 1 getting about 8000 uniques a month - I had abandoned it the day I published it essentially and did NOTHING link wise. Not a tweet .. not a backlink .. nothing. It was in the education niche and got mentioned on a few edu sites because it was link bait essentially (I think the backlink count in majesticSEO was about 60).

That site got whacked by Penguin. So I can't remove what I did not build. And it is not a 'profitable' keyword, so I doubt any negative SEO attempts. Lack of update penalty? Lack of social marker penalty? I actually don't see it as a penalty per se. I see it as the fundamental way the algo ranks pages has changed, and what was valued before is not as valuable now. The rules behind authority have shifted.

Am I going to put any effort into getting that site back to #1? No. The adsense payout on it was too low to bother.

It's quite simple, stop posting spammy content. Give your visitor something of value and that goes for your back linking too.

The only thing that looks more unnatural than spammy links is removing them. :) Improve content and build higher quality links.

Anchor text variation for sure less than 60% should be your main key words, links from contextual sites, 2% or less keyword density.. there is probably something more, but who knows what it is...

1.Change your home page content.Try to keep the main KW density low this time.Dont put it h1 etc.
2.Diversify your anchor profile with some natural text.
3.Get some authority links. from press release and authority social signal.

Worked for me quite well.

It's too late. Were you using xrumer to your money site?

My 3 of my money sites were affected because I used blog network and I got the Unnatural links penalty and also my site ranking crushed further after the penguin update because I believe I have an over-optimization anchor penalty as well. Its nearly coming to my 2 months after receiving the Unnatural links penalty.

My current approach is I am building the 3 sites from scratch. Yes, new articles, proper LSI silo structure, on-page optimization, etc. I am also varying my anchor texts and keeping it very natural.

Sometimes I think, its much faster redoing the sites from scratch and ranking for them than waiting for the penalty to be over. You never know how long this penalty will last.

I thought I had ridden the tide of this quite well. All my sites were ranking well and some even improved. Woke up this morning to realise that my site with the most potential has dropped like a stone. It's nowhere to be seen in the top 300, but is still indexed.

It had been slowly progressing in the serps whilst I built backlinks to it, a facebook page which was gathering an audience, and a twitter page with some relevant followers. It danced about at the bottom of page one/top page two, just to settle two weeks ago in 7th position for its main keyword. I'm in two minds whether to leave it there or push some higher quality backlinks to it. Meh, I think I'll let it rest a while before doing anything.

If you were affected by penguin, not a penalty...

Getting out created Links will do nothing from Penalty..Create Links again which balance your created Links from the common words and not From your exact keywords.

If you were affected by penguin, you did NOT receive a penalty...penguin is an algorithm change with filters and if you got caught up in it, then your site will not come back until you fix what google is targeting...

I wish penguin was a penalty as penalties expire eventually, but when your site is hit algorithmically, you HAVE to fix/modify your backlink profile to recover rankings...

use the best SEO services with good reviews else leave black hat seo methods and move on to white hat seo
your choice :)

Who knows ...

One things for sure, it wont be a "one sentence" solution.
