There was a thread somewhere around here where you would go find your niche's community group. Post your content to get traffic in the community group and when I tried it out, I actually got traffic + google plus followers. So that's one way to get real google plus followers

You can buy them, look on the BST section, use social exchange sites or give it a go yourself naturally making connections. Each has its merits, just depends what you want to achieve.
