How can I find a developer for an idea?

I have this idea that seems a little complicated to make, but it seems like it could help me keep my head above water if I can get it made and invest some time into it.

I'm fully willing to pay for a developer, but I looked on the market place for web design and there wasn't really anything that catered to personal builds / custom projects. When using other websites like Freelancer, I just get the non-unique indian or pakistani dude who is scamming and re-sourcing development from someone else, what can I do?

I don't have time to learn the coding myself as I work an actual job now..

I understand that you can't learn coding yourself, it requires a lot of time, energy and also the understanding how computing and algorithms work.

Most things can be made to happen with code provided the requirement isn't outrageous.

I think it is more about vetting developers to ensure that they are able to achieve what you want them to do.

You could always give them a sample project.

Post this under the Hire a Freelancer section. Just be specific and you'll surely be able to find one that will suit your preferences.
