Ahrefs: It's a personal fav of mine. Ahrefs shows fantastically detailed data with IP wise, Page Linking and more.

Majestic: It's similar to Ahrefs tool. You can check new backlinks and lost backlinks as well.

Maybe I too am getting old and very surprised to see so many votes for hrefs.... wondering if it is because of the free trial or if they got that good. I suppose while they all have similar yet different databases and value, it is up to the individuals comfort and understanding of the tool and the data it provides.

I been using majestic for years and have not been let down when it comes to seeing the strong links.... in the past it appeared href was better at new links and lower value links.

If you like, provide the competitors domain and I will get you his or her top links from majestic.

I recommend Aherfs and SEMRush to find the backlink status of your competitors.

I hope others referred the same,but i suggest you Aherfs is best tool for competitors analysis as KW research,content research and monitoring acquired back link.just give it a try hope it helps for you.
