Their renewal are also cheapest, at least for all top tlds (.com,.net,.org,.io,.co) They want to hit all the pricing points of domain registration. But you never know what will happen in 2-3 years.
I remember the aggressive marketing porkbun did 2-3 years back, and tried to funnel customers to buying hosting, and now treating their customers like shit because their marketing strategy mostly failed.
Cheap domain--->shitty slow expansive hosting
mostly don't work now a days.

there are many websites that offer first signup bonus , you can get your first domain name with 0.99$ ... and there are some hosting plan that offer free domain name if you bought a year plan from them (Hostinger)

Yeah but one has to buy for 2 years atleast. 1$ for first year then $20 for second year .

That's not true unless things have changed recently - I picked up a .com from them 2 months ago and paid $1 for 1 year.
 
Godaddy will allow you to register your .com very cheap,around $1 .

I grabbed a .com domain for $2 last week. ( I didn't have any unused CC left to use the Godaddy method I mentioned above)
