Hi,

few months a go i started a new niche site and for some reason it got indexed like this

www.main-domain.com/NEW-DOMAIN.COM

and after a few weeks of bookmarking and link building finally it got indexed as it should be .

i just baught a new domain and don't want this to happen again,

should i name the domain folder on my cpanel something else other than the domain name ? and if i did so, is this gonna effect my rankings,

All thaughts and suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks

oh come on guys, 40 views no ideas ? if you guys don't ge twhat i mean pleas tell me to explain more .

home directory/public_html/new-domain.com
You went, home directory/public_html/old-domain.com/new-domain.com

do not make a folder of your domain in your hosting, just put everything in public html

only put sub-domains in folders. everything else just goes in your public html folder ex:
home directory/public_html/index.php

Dr Jekyll beat me to it :)

Eh, anyone else get a reported attack site message when they followed the link?

but guys, i have more than one site ! it's not possible to put all teh stuff together !

If you're not on a tight budget get a reseller or vps and run everything thru whm. solves the problem.

Did you happen to even look at what you were clicking on? He was just explaining... an example, if you will.

Why? I have 5 add on domains to one home directory on one account.

i mean it's not possible to have more than one index page in the public_html folder, am i missing something !!? pleas help .

i just talked to the supporte and they told me that all the addon domain belong to the public_html fodler and a fodler with the name of the new domain automaticly created when i add the new domain .

should i name this filder something else ? or what ?

you should have a setup for the domain in your hosting so it resolves to the folder you make.

I use reseller hosting so am not as up on that info.

If you would like me to look at it for you I will. pm me

actually when you ad the domain it should make its own folder. [but like I said I have always used reseller]

No no what they're telling you is NOT TO PUT YOUR OTHER DOMAINS INTO THE DIRECTORY CONTAINING YOUR MAIN DOMAIN

See, you log into the ftp, you see a folder for your main domain.. right?
You make more directories for other domains.. where THAT one is.
Don't make them INSIDE of that folder.

So in your public_html folder you see this

MAINDOMAIN
2NDDOMAIN
3RDDOMAIN

And each one of these will have its own index and everything inside of it
