How can Amazon rank 2+ links on first page?

I am interested in how Amazon does this. Can anyone explain it?

For example, if I were to create 2 pages targeting a certain Keyword only one of the pages would rank or they would be switching places. Under no condition I have had 2 pages in top 100 at the same time.

This happens when the ranking website is considered an authority on the topic. If Google considers your website an authority on the topic, they can rank two pages of your website for the same keyword.

That said, you don't need it though. Just focus on ranking one page as high as possible and you'll get all the traffic you want.

But on a serious note, I've seen this happen on websites other then Amazon as well.
I've even seen it happen on my own websites, but only for very low-comp keywords.
Amazon gets it for the high-comp keywords because, it's Amazon.
