Hello everyone,

I am beginner to making money online and trying to understand what actually works for beginners.

I have been reading about different methods like freelancing, affiliate marketing, and content-based income, but it is a bit confusing where to start.

Right now my goal is simple, just to make my first $150 online and learn the process.

For those who have already done it, what method helped you get your first result? And how long did it take?

For a beginner, I think the fastest way is usually selling a simple service you can already do, even if it’s small. Things like basic design work, WordPress fixes, writing, admin help, or simple outreach can get you to your first $150 much faster than affiliate marketing.

A lot of people start with affiliate stuff because it sounds easy, but in reality it usually takes longer before you see money. My advice would be to focus on something you can offer right now and use that first $150 to learn and build confidence.

It all boils down to one simple question: do you have any starting capital, or are you starting from absolute zero?

If you have a budget: The fastest way to your first $150 is reselling. Find a high-demand service or product — like aged social media accounts, in-game items, or niche software licenses — that you can buy cheap in one place and sell higher in another. It’s the classic 'buy low, sell high' model.

If you have zero budget: Your only currency is your time and skills. You’ll have to offer services. Don't try to be a 'general' freelancer. Pick one boring, repetitive task that busy people hate doing themselves — data scraping, manual account warm-ups, or basic image editing — and offer it in the 'Hire a Freelancer' section.

The biggest mistake beginners make is overcomplicating everything. Don't look for a 'secret method.' Look for a problem you can solve for someone else right now.

It might be a good choice to focus on what problems you can solve. If it were me, I would still think it's dropshipping, but it also depends on your skills in product promotion and selection, as well as website construction

get some paid automation tools like broadcasting in tons of telegram groups
sell this as advertising service

though you'll need some upfront investments for the tool and accounts and proxies

but it's better than you need to waste months and years to "learn skills" before your wallet starves to death
unless you think you can learn & do faster than AI

Great recommendation, but there's one nuance. A person who doesn't have experience in this and doesn't know the successful methods of mass mailing can very quickly get bans and freezes on their accounts, which will ultimately lead to their potential profit from the service being many times less than their costs on consumables.

Simple services, freelancing—I wouldn't go for affiliate marketing or content creation. Things like basic design, editing, or social media management—I'd go for small tasks that can be sold quickly if you know how to market them. Affiliate marketing and content creation work, but it takes a long time to see results. The important thing at the beginning is to validate that you can charge for something, even if it's small, and then scale from there.
