How blackhat & risky is bad spintax on properties?

Say I messed up the spintax and accidentally created a bunch of properties with spintax {|} showing in the article and the links, has anyone seen a dip in rankings from this? It has happened once or twice now and I've never seen any negative ranking results, but I'm curious if anyone else has?

I figured if it did negatively effect rankings you could just hit your competitors with the spintax errors to damage them, so it doesn't seem plausible but what do you guys think?

i would try and delete them or change them if possible.

It would undoubtedly get the page deleted but I wouldn't think that it would cause any kind of penalty other than that. Why not go back and fix the properties, or was it too many to fix?
