Thought i would celebrate my 2k posts (thanks to being prompted by arganrecords) with a little workflow system that will help increase your chances of success.

Been using a simple system to keep track of what i'm doing, with regards to projects. You probably have multiple opportunities on the go,
and come across some that you "put on the back burner". Maybe you have a opportunity that you can't start until you get a task done for it.
Whatever it is, i've been using a site (insightly) that helps track your opportunities, put in values for them, and add tasks.

Here is a few screen shots.

Ok say someone contacts you about a JV, you can enter their details in your contact list (later you will see that you associate that person with an opportunity)

All you then do is put in the opportunity your thinking of working on...
You assign an estimated value to the opportunity, and how often you will make that money. Each day/month/ whatever.
You need to also put in how long that income lasts for.
As a rule of thumb i've just been putting in 365 days and daily income. Then if stuff lasts longer, its bonus money,
Its only meant as a guide, not as an accounting program or anything that sophisticated.

One thing i have noticed is when you see the grand total for that opportunity, your much more conscious of working effectively on it.

Once you've added in your opportunity, its easy just to add a quick one liner in with the associated tasks button.

The best think is that you can see the total value of all your opportunities combined on the opportunities dashboard, so this should obviously be > $10
There are paid upgrades available to use extra functions like category and collaboration with team members, email integration
but for most people, using the basic outline i mentioned will probably be enough. I don't get bogged down with it though, just put the tasks in that you
need to get projects running. Ongoing tasks would be best in a dedicated project spreadsheet, but whatever thats just how i use it.
I've used products like sugarCRM in the past, and lost motivation having to mess with so many fields, but with this method, its quick and easy
and should make a nice compliment to your existing workflow.

Enjoy, and let me know how big you can get that opportunity total ;)

Yeah, but my dad's opportunity funnel could probably kick your dad's opportunity funnel's ass! That's a pretty big funnel.

Great contact management solution with a nice motivational twist. It's always good to stay organized!
