how bad can anti-seo be?

this may not be the correct place to discuss my topic here, but lets give it a go.

About six months ago I was hired by a company to work on their websites problems, they were sandboxed from the previous webmaster cheating using some pretty stupid methods, using strictly white hat methods, and quite a bit of my own money, i pulled it out of that sandbox, and put it firmly on the first page of google.

Now that the damage has been repaired, I'm told that they are letting me go.
Normally this would not be an issue, although I did pick up my entire life and moved to their town to give daily effort to the site, and consult with them in person with updates.

I was also planning a wedding next month, that is in the air now as my fiance after hearing the news decided life was over, and is in the hospital for attempting to kill herself.

So needless to say I'm a little bit ticked off at these people.

From a back hat standpoint, what can we do to seek revenge for the damage done? Its not like ethics is an issue, They agreed to pay me for a year at minimum, but i just learned I can not afford a lawyer to fight their big town lawyer.

Lets talk about a solution to the problem of bad medium sized business.
I'd like to see their website snuffed from google and hell i don't care.

You can use the same tactics against them that you did to get them built up.

Just create a bunch of fake sites and SEO them under all of yours, then offer to get them back for their keywords if they pay you 2x what you were to make. Just make it sound like you had nothing to do with it. Paid upfront of course, then take the sites down one by one and they'll see their rankings improve. Make it look like you are vicious, using hackers and ddos attacks on the other sites. So that way they will never piss you off again.

I am sorry to hear about your fiance, but, if that is all it took to push her over the edge..... I know love is blind, deaf, and totally stupid, and I don't want to offend you, but try to look at the overall picture on that part of it. Oddly done favors......

Wouldn't it be better to invest all your frustration into other more positive ventures? Take it as a lesson and move on, and the next time you come to this situation you'll know how to handle it.

well, I forgot to add that we rent a house from the same company, (real estate company) and we were told to leave.

so understand we have nowhere to go, nor could we afford to move all our stuff to a new location, so we loose 99% of our possessions, and are put out on the street in about 15 days.

shadowcr were you under a contract or straight employment? If you can prove that they made you all of these promises you can still take them to small claims court and sue for whatever the max is in your state. Also all states have eviction laws, you can find out by doing a search on google.

That really sucks what they are doing to you, I'd want to get even too but try the legal way first. Some lawyers will offer 30 or 60 minute free consultations. See if you can find one in your area. Start with this website (ww*w.han*delonthelaw.co*m).

Oh I almost forgot, if none of this works then use PRStorm to spam the hell out of their URL back to the stone age, also submit their URL to google and yahoo at least three times a week. That'll get them delisted in no time. Don't forget to use a proxy for this.

today i spent $500 in fees to talk to two lawyers, both told me without at least $5,000 up front they could not help.
so, I wasted $500 to tell me what I already knew, i can not afford a lawyer.
because the contract is mainly verbal, its very difficult to fight in small claims court, and it would take years to get the case heard.

It was 100% contract labor, the company failed to produce a contract that we both could agree on over the course, but there are points layout in email and payroll letters proving my case.

If i bring up the house lease to the housing community, by default i loose all ability to file further charges against the contract breach, although right now having a roof over my head is needed. but with nothing to fall back on for other support such as food, and bills, it makes for a very difficult problem.

Right now I'm wanting to show them that they were better off paying me to keep the results than losing everything, over 90% of their business depends strongly on their website, they take online bookings, if that falls, they have very little to keep them going.

this would in return either force them to rehire me to fix the mess, that i did not do or simply crumble and let karma take over their fate.

I'm not asking for anything illegal here.
Its not illegal to get a site delisted.
I'm not asking for hacking in any way, just good ole "you don't come up for any keywords" kinda thing.

The scope of an SEO Based attack on a company depends on whether or not you still have access to the site, or better yet, the domain's DNS.

The worst thing you could do for their domain is route it 301 to a total spam site with obvious "cloaking", while using something like PRStorm to spam the hell out of the SERPs.

The end effect would be the domain would lose it's Trust and PR, and would probably end up banned from the SERPs. You'd probably end up being sued or arrested, and all they'd have to do is contact Google and request re-inclusion while correcting the DNS or Redirect.

I would suggest you invest that energy into making sure your loved one is safe, and start looking for a new job. Or better yet, use your white hat skills to make a killing in Black Hat, and then work from home ;D.

That being said, I feel for you. Your anger is justified and normal, but for your own sake I would suggest you step back and listen to the more level headed advice on the thread. If they contracted you, they still have an obligation to you, and the emails constitute some form of proof of this contract.

For example the last real job I ever worked was with a startup SEO company; I was hired to be their lead developer, in charge of developing tools, training staff, and consulting on high end clients.

We couldn't negotiate benefits and an acceptable contract(I don't really do the whole non-compete thing, when I'm in charge of training your entire staff!) I hadn't even filled out tax papers with these guys yet, and they decided not to pay me for the 3 weeks I had been with them.

After filing a labor board request, I used emails saved from my account on their corporate server, and my private account to prove I had worked with them. Long story short, I got my check in the mail a few weeks later .

So step back, see what you've got for info to prove the scope of your relationship, and focus on the important things in life. Ultimately money is only paper, you can make some more; but time you'll never get back.

First if you have ftp passwords you can insert some special codes to the site ex: cloaking and give hidden links to porn sites. This will hurt them.

If you don't have any pass try to get them with social engineering tricks. Call the hosting company (not from home) and tell them you can't get into your acocunt cause you crashed your server which you saved all the paswords and ask if they know the pass or can reset the pass. Before this call be sure that you have already made an gmail or hotmail account with the name of the film. If they reset the password just tell them to send the password to [email protected]. Let them understand that this action is URGENT.
For the social engineering you can take a look to Kevin Mitnick's book. He has an awesome book about social engineering.
If you get the pass you can really hurt them.
You can make a web page about the company. Get a domain name similar to your company name like companny name and make a SEO for the company name. Just focus it. if you can get the #1 at google make a landing page which says the company sucks. They cheat lots people and their financial standings are not good. They can close the office in 1-2 months. Don't use your own name own email while registering domain name and don't use your nameservers. Also use TOR or proxy while uploading documents.
These are webmaster solutions. If you are looking for a real solution hire an italian guy and let him to shoot them from the foot. This is the real value of your revenge. If you can't find someone to do it, do it yourself. But be sure that you have already watched all series of "Dexter". Dexter Morgan can give you more than inspiration

website is self hosted internal, all access is removed, not would it be a good idea to even ftp in as that would be considered unlawful entry to something i have no business being in.

I'm more looking for the Italian or Russian guy that finds things like this a fun.
