I'm a newb so I apologize if this may be something obvious but I can't seem to figure it out. I also can't post links (since I'm new) but have included a search phrase to copy/paste in Google to show what I'm referring to.

This is the search phrase:
MLB!. San Francisco Giants vs St. Louis Cardinals Live. Stream. Watch. NLCS 2014 Finals. Online. Free. Game 3

...I know, this search phrase is a bit 'odd' but it makes it easy to find the sites I'm referring to.

Basically there are 3 'sites' with user made pages that I most often find ranking on page 1 for similar searches in Google (and generating a ton of traffic). Sorry, BHW flags my post if I try to include any links so I had to use an 'odd' format to get things to show at least below.

- eteamzDOTcom
- redditDOTcom
- criterionDOTcom

I attempted, this morning, to make similar pages using each one of the sites listed above thinking it must be because Google 'loves' those sites. If you go into the individual pages ranking well for the search phrase I included above, it seems like they used a bunch of keyword stuffing with random (mostly unreadable) content. I did the same though I have always been under the impression this doesn't work with Google.

My results?
I failed to bring any of the pages I made into the first few pages of Google. The interesting thing is I have seen some of these pages ranked on page 1 of Google within an hour of being created. How? What am I missing? I tried to see if they were somehow building backlinks to these pages but from what I can tell they aren't. I even attempted to throw some H1 tags, etc in there thinking that would help rankings...

Ahh, I failed to ping. Any suggestions on what to use?

Unique content--->good keywords and SEO strategy--->hq backlinks you can get good results.

If you've a new site which is still not important to Google, then how will your page with whatever keywords will get indexed and ranked IMMEDIATELY? Whenever its robots find time to visit your page, then it will think what to do with it (the page and the content), where to put it in its SERPs, etc. (its routine work), and so until then your page and the keyphrase will still unborn to the outside world. And why use such a loooogish keyphrase :D? I think you will rank top (and only) for the whole phrase once G finds the page and likes it. :)

If you're using those famous sites, then too you'll have to ping it, may be many times to get traffic. The content, the keywords, the traffic, the amount the traffic that stays, the the sites and people who link to your page, social networking exposure, SEO strategies, etc. will count towards making the page popular. There are many BH ways too to get it on top as fast as you can!
