Hey guys!

Started a site back in mid November 2020, now 1 year later. Can anyone tell me how decent this level of growth is and anything I should try and do?

Put out aprox. 60 articles & 12 videos. Website design all self done (Wordpress)

Earning ~$500/mo from affiliate sales. 0 ads.

All whitehat SEO & marketing. Very little keyword research (intuition), no purchased backlinks (manual posting on platforms like Reddit, Pintrest, etc). No SEO tools aside from Site Kit and SEO WP plugin.

How does CTR & bounce rate look? Low, high, normal?

Is Ezoic or something worth considering right now? I enjoy giving audience an ad-free experience

Niche: Outdoor, adventure, travel, sports, lifestyle

Why didn't you use adsense with aff marketing?
 
This is quite an achievement. It's better to continue posting content without ads. The ad networks will take away some of your affiliate income. But you can do A|B testing to see if you get higher income with ads.

Your site is doing great and I wouldn't touch what is already working - maybe just do more of the same if that's the case.
You already have a property worth $15k - $20k - well done job op. Congrats!
 
Honestly it's amazing progress. If this is how far you've come in 1 year imagine where you'll be in 10 years if you keep going and building.

You're doing great. No investment besides your time and not much of a keyword research, this is more than good.

Now, if I were you, I'd consider investing a bit of a time into keyword research and publish more content based on that, plus a couple of good backlinks a month would work well, especially where you need a little boost to outrank competitors.

Why don't you start a journey thread here? It will help you with accountability and tracking, and you will help others by sharing a good example plus a few tricks here and there.

Definitely keeping & growing - there's some personal life inside it so wouldn't make sense to sell unless I re-branded it

I just started doing content that I really like (audio, camping, biking, adventuring, nerd shit) and just kept putting out content and refining the site. It was pretty ugly to start - my buddy said it first looked like site trying to sell boner pills lol.

Holy shit would you really valuate it at that? :D I've had a couple reach out to do guest posts & buy backlinks already but their price was too low - hopefully after another year I'll gain more DA and stuff and be able to charge real prices for it.

From what I know, adsense with 5-6k monthy views wouldn't generate too much $ and would instead slow down the site and impact the UX, no? Idk maybe I'm wrong but I think it calculated to like $20-$30/month for ads which isn't worth it to me at this point. Maybe once I'm at 10x the traffic?
