pardon my amateurism and newbie question but the whole idea of strong link dont make sense to me and currently im making weak links but i would also to make strong ones.

Some googling that says the following: links from huge news outlets like forbess and such (with high DA and huge, healthy link profile) are "strong links".

but i have ton of profile links from high DA websites that have similar link profiles to forbess and yes they are do-follow and yes they are indexed. Result? very little to no movement. And I made ton of them. Probably I would rank if i made 3000 of them but thats impossible.

so how is forbess link stronger than some high DA ******** indexed profile link?

differences:
  1. I thought forbess links out less than some spammy profiles pages and to more high quality websites. that could be true. But thats not neccessary a major factor
  2. link juice going to profiles from internal links and homepage is zero. from forbess homepage to forbess article theres some: (homepage->category->post) but theres ton of posts in these categories so is that really a lot of link juice passing to your website?
I am trying to make strong links but I have no idea what strong link means and only definition i found is "HIGH DA WEBSITE" which is not true, and "FORBESS" which is more likely but hard to understand why

cheers

the only thing that worked for me is acumulation of link juice via spammy methods.. too bad i dont have tools right now. but accumulation of link juice makes sense. Forbess or profile links dont have any link juice accumulated (or not much, at least after forbess article dissapears from homepage and first top10 in category)

Forbes is very powerful but very expensive too, be careful you’ll blow your entire marketing budget in buying it
sory i called that thread poorly. "What are strong links and why?" would be better title

bro you need contextual links from them. they will get your rankings boosted!

Everyone in the SEO world keeps regurgitating the same exact stuff. High DA means nothing if your backlink has no link profile of its own and by this, I mean internal or external (this is how PageRank works and it's still used for ranking). The point you made about the link juice not flowing after it disappears from the homepage is valid unless it is still linked in a category page. If the linking page from one of those massive websites has internal links it will surely give you site a huge boost.

i got one from has backlinks from bbc, cnn and the guardian. Didn't use it still.yes forbes links are powerfull

Relevancy and Contextual links are what you are looking for ..

This is the right answer.

You might be able to get links on high DA domains but if they are on orphaned pages that are not linked to in any other way then they are next to useless.

Forbes links are likely editorial in some way and categorized and linked to as part of the website architecture. The links you're building yourself might be on websites with barely any traffic, heavily spammed with links and articles, on pages with no internal link structure, on subdomains, or are user-generated.

Forbes is very powerful but very expensive too...
You can purchase an expiring/expired domains which having links from Forbes from few bucks.
The cons is, that you can't select the anchor text and content, but for such price range, not bad ;)

Cheers, Greg.

Are these domains already expired or expiring. Problem with expiring is you have to win them via auction and the price can go up.

Also how do you find good expired domains?

why you always say about anchor text, what is that in special
Get any a bit competitive phrase and check all domains on 1st Google page - you quickly will understand :)
The anchor text in the no.1 in Google algorithm + PageRank. And this is why.

To be honest, Forbes links can be purchased quite easily, for about $200 (on different marketplaces).

Do I think that the link from Forbes is worth $200? No, I don't...

how do you find good expired domains?
There are a lot of blind people who purchasing only metrics such Ahrefs DR or number of RD.
For this reason also at auction you can grab very strong domain for your niche which have at least 5-10x more power than mentioned metrics.

The beginners aren't able to understand, that domain with 100 RD MUST have the ranking,
in other situation mentioned 100 RD have very low value and in result - no ranking.

I am looking how well domain was perform in the SERP in last years.
There is no any secret, that domain with good links have good ranking and for sure not have any penalty.
So, if such domain was performed well in SERP in last years, even is without any sense checking BL, because Google verified it.

At second, I am looking for domains which having backlinks from trusted for Google sites in my niches,
as this "trust" is used in NEW PageRank algorithm. I am just selecting the domains from which I want the links - software doing the job.

Cheers, Greg.

After reading your username I guess you are doing wild hat link building, right?

Because they're neither contextual not relevant. Honestly profile links and comment and etc are just good for diversification and consolidation. Contextual links from other blogs via guest posts, natural, or plain outright buying are the best.
