Recently, I heard from chat group, somebody makes money with Apps + Content Farm, of course he did not disclosure more, I am very confusing, Apps is going to down trend, right ?

If Apps rely on ADs income, it is almost not possible to make money, am I wrong ?

You can give me some hints and discuss here, thanks.

I don't have experience with apps either but to me it looks fairly logical that they use microtransactions. Buying things within the app.
Ive seen many apps, especially on the iOS app store that seem like complete copies of others so my thought is they mass or try to rank apps basically and generate money with the micro transaction (and ads)

    People like to click things

But yes, you can example get revenue by ads, affiliates, selling "premium features", put a price on the app after it gets popular etc etc.
Content farming? Then it's most likely ads PPC or AdSense. Google prefer if AdSense is used on android apps because they love what they can control.

There are several way to earn from apps.Such as by showing interestial banner,Coin selling if you are runnning game and also paid subscription if you are not giving away your app for free.

But need a Google play developer account first.Hard now a days!

By apps you mean mobile apps, web apps or desktop apps? The revenue varies from platform, but if you're referring to mobile apps, the best performing apps in terms of income are the ones who implement the freemium model. Basically you download a limited app that can be improved or have extra features or content by purchasing items.

For web apps, the best performing model is the software-as-a-service (SAAS) in which consumers subscribe to a renewable plan (monthly, yearly, etc) in order to gain access to the service.

You probably noticed that neither case is based in the one time purchase model, that is no longer as profitable as the previously mentioned models.

    Hello.
Mobile is living its childhood. There will be more and more opportunities and it will grow more and more in coming years. I am not talking about random template with $5 price. If you can build something that people actually uses, you can make huge profit. It is not about downloads and being on a top list. It is about engagement. It is better to have 10K users using your app everyday than 1M users download and uninstall at the same day.

Question about how apps make money, you can make profit from various sources.

Paid apps: If you are giving real value people will pay for it. Especially business apps, productivity apps fits such kind of model very well. If something speeds up your work flow why don't you pay for it?

In-app purchases: It is possible to sell digital goods and services within the app. If it is a game which has simple trade on it you can sell coins. If it is a magazine style app you can build a subscription based model around it. In-app purchase is center of freemium app model which is download and use free and buy some premium feature later.

Ads: There are various types of ads. Some of them really pays well. Especially if you can blend ad inside apps behavior you can make HUGE money with it. Think about game BBTAN. Instead of randomly popping up video ads it asks you to continue when you die. If you choose to continue it shows you a rewarded video (video ad which is not stoppable until the end)

Another options: Things work with web, almost work with mobile with small adjustments. CPA, CPD or any other model works well with mobile also. The thing is you have to blend it to your niche as much as possible and choose write offers.

Without further ado, let's talk about the ways you can make money when your app is free.
The Freemium Upsell. This requires having a second version of your app that's paid. Or In-App Purchases, CPI Networks (Cost Per Install),
    Sponsorship.
