How Alexa ranking is calculated?

Hello guys-

Just wanted to know how alexa ranking are calculated??
My current alexa global ranking is 1,030,926 and for India its 87, 000.

Do you guys trust in them?

P.s you shouldn't care at all for Alexa ranking.

You can quickly increase it if you send traffic to it (even fake ones), and also putting widget of Alexa on your sidebar.

Thanks for the information.. So according to you there traffic estimates are not accurate?? Did you mean sending fake traffic to own website??

Yes, they're not accurate on my own opinion. I haven't visited Alexa for a long time. I remember a time where I used to check my rankings there every day (same goes with DA from MOZ) but it is completely a waste of time. You just need to make sure that Google Analytics is showing your visitors, that's what it all matters.
