How accurate is "Monthly Searches" on Google Planner?

So far got 2x more traffic than I estimated for #1 position.

The monthly planner has tripled the estimate for my main keyword vs the plain keyword tool. The keyword tool used to give me the estimate of 22k search per month and now the planner gives the estimate of 60k so I don't know if I trust it at all.

It's similar for me.
Because of that I would like more contributions (and numbers) to this thread.

but how is your actual traffic stat? if you compare your traffic with old keyword tool data and new planner estimate.. can you give us some numbers
