Recently I have came across few posts which was liked and received positive replies, and at the same time few people making fun of the post and gave few hurting replies.

I thought to "dislike" or show "disappointment" gesture for such post, specially someone is seriously looking for help in terms of information or anything.

There are few funny comments, which should be taken in right spirit, I am only saying about comments which discourages the "OP" with their negative comments.

I felt there should be a feature to show that, One's comment is hurting or disappointing.

I don't think its a good idea. It will be toxic for the community. I guess some people are going to take it personally, others will think twice about what they are posting, others don't want to get angry reactions and just stop posting completely.

Just look at Reddit. Go to a subreddit and write something against the general opinion and people are going to downvote the shit out of you, even tho you are right

Yes even this has to be considered. But think about people getting hurting replies when they are looking for help.

I would like it to be like this
This looks perfect, as it got an option to show different emotions.

Heard BHW had the reputation system bring that back pls

I agree. Reddit has always been like that; maybe BLW would be different as we're a different type of community, which I feels would use it for other reasons- their being a weapon and/or circlejerk.

here is my dislike reaction to your thinking:
:poop:

:p

It's gone for good. Some people (including me) had enough rep to make any newbie go red in rep. I seldom used mine to rep negatively, but many were much more trigger happy.

You mean, people saw you downvote someone, so as a Jr.vip you could bury a newbie because other people followed what you were doing like sheeps and downvoting too?

Or it was somethign different?

Thing is downvotes would result in less engagement

Every network owner prefer to avoid such feature and there is a good reason

It takes some % of community engagement, would you love to lose % of your site's traffic? Of course not

But I would love to see this feature available for at least a week or few :D (as a test)

I don't vote for it, cause it will turn to fucking Reddit

It was different. I don't remember too much, but probably only vips could neg rep while everyone could positive rep. My rep point was something like 42 i think. So if I neg repped someone, he would be -42 in a zap. Old members, please correct me if I am wrong. ;P

Also, rep system was different than like system (it was called something else than like.. forgot what it was).
