if I buy a high authority domain with a lot of good backlinks to the homepage, would the inner pages that I upload myself rank just because the domain has high authority? even if the domain is not relevant?

so for example let's say I buy
music-for-everyone.com

I restore the homepage

then I put up an inner page
music-for-everyone.com/best-car-insurance-companies

would the inner page rank well because of the domain's authority? (by rank well I mean at least page 2, I don't mean number 1 on page 1)

So the relevancy here is zero?

I found a $5 domain on an auction that had 250RD. TF/CF/DA/PA were low but it did have a bunch of links and they were good links. I repurposed it with 20,000 posts of autogenerated content (readable but super generic, containing keyword) that had nothing to do with original site. Original site was a web development agency, they had made a framework and had links from tech and development sites. My content was about a medical condition. It ranks much better than a fresh domain without links. Doesn't get much traffic though (maybe 5v/day) because it mainly ranks on 2nd or 3rd page.

Personally, however, if I were to spend a bunch of money on a domain, I want it to be relevant/on-topic. Now i'm looking to buy a $2000 relevant aged domain with links and don't really want to buy a domain about chairs and repurpose it as a site about TVs.

Thing with using big domains for money site purposes is, that sometimes, it simply doesn't work. You can do everything right and even then, the fucker just doesn't rank no matter what you do.

If you decide to completely change the niche of money site, the chances of the domain working are even smaller. Can it work? Yes. Will it work? Maybe. Does it have a better chance of working than relevant domain? Not by a longshot.

Then again, insurance company is so spammy, that it just might work.

thank you, I was hoping you would respond since I understand you are an expert in this area.

If you bought a domain, threw it in as you write, but still added unique content, then over time I think it could catch the phrases you want. However, you will not achieve this quickly and easily.

Page authority is correlated with Domain authority. So if you link pages to homepage juice will be transfered
