I keep seeing post about this type of thing. People wondering what they should do to make money online.
Here is how I developed my first info product and went on to make $7,000 with this product in the first year with about 10 hours worth of work.
This story is 100% true. Odd but true.
One day I was driving around in my vette and decided that I had seen other people make info products so I thought that I would. I didn't know how to build a website, I didn't even have a paypal account. I knew nothing....
I pulled off the road and called a 1800 number and talked to myself about something I knew about for 45 minutes and recorded the call. Strangely right In the middle of the call 2 guys pulled up beside me to ask me about my vette, I left our conversation right in the call, because I didnt even know how to edit....Nobody complained.
I went home and threw up a website with dreadfully terrible copy. Terrible set up...Looking back it was just about as bad as the worst I have seen. But who cares, I was making money. In the first week using forums I had $300 in sales.
Once tasted what it was like to go to bed in the evening and have people send me lots of money for nothing more than an idea, then waking up richer than when I fell asleep it's been on like donkey kong.
Right now on average, every night I go to bed and wake up every morning $150 richer than when I fell asleep....That's pretty great...considering that is what I used to make in a day while working.
I also have averaged about $700 month on ebay selling a download link and one disk...Which is pretty crazy when you consider most people would sell their wardrobes or TV's to get $700 and all I send is a single link.
I am no internet superstar, nor do I care to be, but I should make about $50,000 this year selling my own info products.
My philosophy is to make products rather than run a million different affiliate strategies....I like making my own products because then instead of getting paid 50% of some elses fee for selling a product, I keep 100% of my own, or pay affiliates 50%...but once it's done, it's done.
My best advice is to get over worrying about making the best product or the best sales page....Just do something. My shit product, with a shit page did over $500 a month in it's first year. My return rate was 3%...I wish I could say that my product was awesome and that's why my returns were so low, but in reality, nobody listened to the stuff they bought, so of course they didn't return it.
Internet marketing is such a strangely odd thing. Think about it, many of the "Guru's" are only selling you products, to teach you how they sold you a product...WTF?
