Long story short, someone has hot-linked to an image on our website for use on their website. An image that took a lot of research to create. I could replace the image with something like two goats ****ing to screw with them, but I was wondering if there is a better solution? One that might result in some positive link juice and/or drive traffic back to our website.

    Thoughts?

Instead of the goats just change it to a text image saying "to see the original image visit xxxx.com"
Plenty of anti hotlink scripts and plugins out there.

I'm sure I've seen scripts that overlay the image with a no hotlinking text and the original website it came from.

Don't know if it's a plugin or custom script though.

Yea, I saw some scripts for WordPress. Unfortunately, we use Drupal and nothing is ever very simple :(

Why don't you migrate away from Drupal then?

The honest truth on that question is that I can't because I'm not tech savvy in that way and, on this particular site, our IT guy... controls it. Even if I could, I can't imagine what it would take to convert a couple thousand pages of content over to WordPress from Drupal. Probably more work than we could hope to do. We're kinda in a position where it works reasonably well and we don't want to screw it up. But we are handicapped.
