How to Check Backlinks with Blekko
Free alternatives for checking website backlinks are few and far between.
Heck, most of the paid solutions are garbage. I've been scouring the
net for the best backlink checking solutions and keep going back
to Blekko, that search engine that never really has taken off.
How to Check Backlinks with Blekko
1. Visit Blekko.com
2. Blekko Search Queries
Blekko works a little differently, essentially they use "slashtags"
to help users find more information or better information by
adding these slashtags. They even added a bunch of slashtags
dedicated to SEO. Here's how they work:
General SEO searches: http://URL.com /seo
Ex. http://blackhatworld.com /seo

In the search box enter in the URL with /seo at the end. This will
pull up a ton of information related to SEO. Including inbound links,
pages indexed in Blekko, hostrank (similar to PR), breakdown of
countries & states linking to the site, crawl information, and even
duplicate content found on the internet!
Inbound Links: http://URL.com /domainlinks
Ex. http://blackhatworld.com/ /domainlinks

This gives you a breakdown of incoming links sorted by Host Rank.
Your initial search will give you the domains listed but not the actual
URL of those links. In order to see the exact URL of the links you
must click the Links column on the domain row. See image below
for reference.
Other Helpful Blekko Resources:
Co-hosted Domains:
Blekko provides you with data on what other domains are hosted
on the same server. This may be helpful if you want to do some
competitive analysis and that person has a dedicated server.
Hosting Information:
Blekko provides detailed information about where the server is
located, IP information and even location based information on
where the data server is.
Site Pages:
Essentially the same as index queries in Google and Yahoo, this
tells you what pages Blekko has seen and their subsequent Rank
score. This helps you determine the most "linked" to pages on a
domain, a great way to dive into the pages with the most links.
