Hi,
Today I am sharing my personal experience with HostWinds, I opt their 1GB Managed VPS Hosting with BHW credit and paid $28.xx amount from my PayPal as well.
I haven't used the service for approx a month so due to busy schedule then I decided to shift one of our blog on that VM. I opened migration ticket with the request "Install WordPress on LEMP and Migrate", they done the migration within 24 hours.
But after I changed the DNS website went offline within 10 minutes, I asked about the same they said RAM is being used 100% due to which MySQL was offline.
They fixed the issue and replied in ticket after their confirmation website went offline within a hour again and this continues for 2 days. Even asked me to upgrade the resources but that was fresh blog and 1GB resources was sufficient with NGINX.
Then after 2 days one of their support executive checked and found that WP was installed on Apache not on Nginx which wasn't requested.
I decided to downgrade from Managed to unmanaged VM as there was no sense of managed service if you are not getting what you looking for.
I requested for Credit Refund for the same so that I could upgrade the resources and manage the VPS by myself, I was looking at the upgrade options and accidentally invoice got generated but as I planned to increase the resources with refunded credit so didn't made the payment.
Within an hour I got email that HostWinds pulled $109.33 from my PayPal, I opened support ticket to the billing team for the refund.
After 2 days "Gus" one of their support team member replied that refund is not possible as per their terms. I requested him more than 10 times but he denied so I opened a dispute on PayPal.
They suspended my services immediately as per their charge back policy, then He said you can use the service but refund is not possible.
I opened dispute on first transaction and with the intention not to use their services after so much mess, they terminated the services and said no refund will be provided.
Now I lost total money and services also terminated, I found similar cases where HostWinds denied to refund for eligible transactions to more than 23 people as per reviews on the internet.
