Hostwinds Affiliate Program Anyone Use This ?

    It seems that hostwinds came up with a new affiliate program and they are offering 65 usd per sign up. Ive read shit reviews about hostgators affiliate program but what about hostwinds I have never complained about their hosting and customer support and have been a client well over a year now. Did anyone give their new affiliate program a shot, do they really pay out ?

    I raised a ticket with hostwinds. Reason: I was not credited for my affiliate sale.... see what happened...

    1. First I complained that I did not get my affiliate payment after referring one of my client by raising a ticket
    2. They said my affiliate sale was not tracked for that sale. I got the email for the same.
    3. I replied back to them by email that it was me who purchased the server for my client by clicking my affiliate URL
    4. They asked, your client should raise a ticket and ask him to credit me for that sale by email.
    5. As requested, my client did that.
    6. Then all of a sudden, I was not able to login to my affiliate hostwinds site
    7. I replied to their email and complained that I am not able to login to my affiliate site
    8. They replied back to email and said that they will verify and get back to me.
    9. They replied back and said, such a username does not exist in their system through email.
    10. I attached the screenshots and other details and replied back through email. I told them that the username exists because when I enter my username in the forgot password textbox, I get the message login details send to your email id but I don't get the email.
    11. They replied and said they will get back to me.
    12. They replied back to my email and said this

    I apologize that you feel this way, and I assure you that is not the case.

    Did you not receive the contact details to your e-mail address?

    13. Now I am not even able to reply back through my email. If I reply, I get the message

These can occur when a user spoofs an email to appear to come from your email to our client area, requesting for us to make certain changes, such as changing your password. You can still respond to tickets via email, that you originally opened in the client area, however new tickets can not be opened via email.

    Finally now, even when I send an email, this is the automatic reply I get..............

    Do custom coupon uses even count as Affiliate sales? Since they introduced their new Affiliate system I have gathered around 40 coupon uses, but 0 Approved sales - no pending commissions, no delayed commissions, in addition, I even do not get to see, what hosting plan my referred customer has chosen. :confused:

    Thank you for this detailed post.
    I believe that I will keep away from then. In the beginning they were my first/best choice, but now I see they shouldn't be at my list of companies I will promote at all.

    Does anyone has any better experience?


    Any good non-EIG recommendation? I'm looking for a reputable company and big commissions.

    If it seems too good to be true. It is too good to be true. Hostwinds maybe a good hosting provider but their affiliate program leave much to debate upon. However, that is just my personal opinion. I am an existing customer of hostwinds but I would not work on their affiliate program as it seems to be just a waste of time.

    Have you tried using the Live Chat on their site? It's always fixed every issue I've ever had, very quickly.

    As I know, they don't communicate with affiliates that way. Those guys from live support will just ask you to open ticket through your affiliate dashboard.

    It may have chnaged but they've always answered my affiliate questions in the past.

    TBH shaving affiliates sales in hosting industry is a big issue , 99% of companies do that

    About hostwinds i reffered a client and he used my refferal link but there was no sale shown in my affiliate dashboard , i contacted support and they said your client might has not used your aff link

    which i confirmed from my client and he said he used my aff link

    After a long debate and exposing them publicly here at bhw , hostwinds owner added the commision in my account

    Then i left promoting them and and now again 2 weeks ago i reffered another client and he even paid for 1 year in advance and he 100% used my affiliate link and again that sale was not tracked by their system

    I again complained it and the answer was same , "your client has not used the affiliate link" , i again asked support to move my ticket to your owner and then owner came started a debate with me and then he added the commision in my account

    In both cases they added the commisions in my account but both times i have to ask them through tickets .

    Their system not tracks the sales period !

    I'm staying away from them. It would be much of a hassle to chase my commissions every time.
    I was really patient to get some answers from their support and after few days I finally got them.
    And I was not satisfied with (short) answers.

    My decision is to promote much bigger hosting company, but for little bit lower payouts. Hope everything will be great, because I see they have pretty good reputation.

    I've tried hostwinds aff as well...they simply don't track sales!
    I tried myself, also with my trusted customer, I even captured live http headers to prove that cookies are set and etc, recorded date,time, IP of a client and still don't have tracked sale.
    They support explained me that I must wait 60 days to see if I have sale which sounds ridiculous!
    How I'm supposed to do advert campaign if I have to wait 60 days just to see if campaign is working?
    And I'm not talking about waiting 60 days to get commission (release it), support told me exactly this - I have to wait 60 days to see if there is a sale!
    I was told to force my client to open a ticket and only then and only for one time - commission will be assigned to my account.

    So I simply stopped use them and highly recommend to avoid their affiliate program as pure scam.
