Hostings asking for ID, is this the norm now?

You can tell us what hosting ask this? Because for me - NameCheap / GoDaddy / HostGator didn't ask about it.

When you say "hostings" do you mean like HostGator? You must be using some info that is triggering their suspicion if all of them are asking for extra verification. Or you are being scammed...

Maybe the payment method used to trigger some suspicious things and they want to be safe.

They asked for this before paying .. although i chose paypal on one and credit card on the other on payment options. So do you think namecheap wont ask for ID ? i wanted something better than hostgator although its just a simple wp businnes site you know the tipical, contact info, team,office location. Our mission..

No hosting company asks for IDs unless their payment gateway or some fraud app raise a flag on there side.

The only case they ask for ID is when they detect fraud through IP or credit card info. If you're using VPN, it could've triggered something. It's better to use proxies.

Yeah, either something about your payment is getting it flagged for fraud or you're signing up for hosting with your local police department or something.

Did you try to use some offer or something? you can go for namecheap or siteground.
