Hosting: What should I chose

I'm developing a Woocommerce WPML website which is currently hosted in the US (pure SSD webhosting).

My host doesn't have datancenters in Europe (where I am located) so I'm going to move this site because it's a little too slow.

Now my question is: Which type of host do you recommend?
I'm not expecting too much traffic, around 8-12k hits per month.
Is there a big difference between Accelerated SSD / Pure SSD or is it even better to go for Windows or Linux or Managed VPS?
Looking for a VPS I came across Upcloud: https://www.upcloud.com/pricing/
But I assume I also have to pay for a cpanel license? Or is cpanel not required?

Use DigitalOcean VPS. I use it and have installed Let's Encrypt SSL for free

Accelerated SSD is just a most likely marketing term for a hybrid hard drive. Don't bother with them. Go with pure SSD (just regular SSD)

Upcloud sounds too good to be true..but still, they are cheaper than DO
 
Any reason why you want a VPS at all for this?
The problem with those is that being root you have to take care of pretty much everything yourself - from server setup to ongoing security maintenance, instead of going about your core business.
I recommend you look for a good shared WP hosting at a location close to your target audience, and if this is spread across the globe sign up for a free cloud flare plan to use their CDN.
That said - since I don't know the country where you will need to have your server I can not recommend anything specific at this time...

I'm expecting a lot of traffic in coming weeks. I think cloud hosting would be best for me as its easy to scale and cheaper than dedicated server. Cloudways offers managed cloud hosting but is pretty expensive if you compare prices. Up cloud is cheaper and claims to be much faster..

Really depends what is a lot of traffic for you.
Unless you are a seasoned sysadmin I can only advise against anything like VPS . Yes, they are easy to set up but not at all easy to maintain. Think regular security updates, hackers, DDOS attacks, all that stuff.
If we are speaking about business that is. If it's a hobby thing, sure, VPS are cheaper.
 
Why not keep your current host and add on a CDN like Cloudflare, MaxCDN or something like that? Seems to me like the simplest solution.
 
You don't need cPanel to host a website. If you know the ends and outs of a linux server you don't need it. But if you are just starting out I would recommend getting it as it will make things a lot easier to manage.
 
I think even if you do not have any DC in your region then you might have to use CDN service to reduce your latency you can host media files with Cloudnary to speed up your website.

Yeah this topic was started in Jan 2017 and its about to end but all replies are from 14th November only :)
