Hey guys I know here are alot smart guys and because of that I want to ask if anyone knows if there is money in the hosting reseller Business.

I made some money with cpa bit I want to start a real Business. Ecommerce is to much money for me up front. So I thought about hosting reseller.
Thanks for every answer

Yes there is a lot of money to be made BUT this type of service requires a large amount of customer support/service and customers will be expecting a lot of help and know how.

Yes you could make some money as a reseller if you do things right. Its not an easy business to get into. But if you focus on local clients first you can build up a core list of customers that will help you grow your business.

Thanks for all the answers.
All answers are great and helpfull.
Local is a great idea. I think I can offer hosting around other Services and post an ad in our main news papers around. I know myself and i have needed alot of help with we hosting. So a really good costumer Service is key thats correct. I think I will hire a firm or someone for that.
I have got some curses and will get through them today.
Every further answer is welcome

Web hosting business requires a lot of time and dedication. It also requires patience because you don't get customers easily due to the fact that it's quite saturated. But with the right dedication and effort, It will pay off.

Reseller hosting service do have the money in it, no doubt. You should have the customers which you can host on the reseller server. Reseller service will provide you all below features -

If you are new to the hosting filed and you would like to manage your customers by third party then you can have the reseller service. Your client will feel that you have your server and managing it by yourself. Reseller service provides you the platform for selling the shared hosting services to your clients or when you would like to host multiple accounts with their separate panel on the same server then you can have the reseller service. Under it, you can create your own packages and can assign them to your accounts as per the requirement of the account. As reseller -

1. You should able to create, edit, remove the reseller hosting sub-accounts from the WHM.
2. You should have rights to create the packages for your reselller service as per you need.
3. You should able to modify the packages when needed.
4. You should have access for adding the DNS records such as A record, TXT record, MX records.
5. You should be permitted to set the email account limits.
6. You should have access to white-list and blacklist the email accounts from the cPanel.
7. You should have access to check the email logs of the email accounts , error logs of the sites.

Once you will familiar with the reseller hosting service then you can switch to VPS, it will be your own server on which you can host anything as per choice, you can have your own business plans.

I’m sure there is money in it, but I think it’s hard work because there is so much competition - it’s relatively easy to START a hosting biz - low barriers to entry.

But having said that, I think it’s very hard to do it well - you needs lots of manpower to support it efficiently and also lots of skill - I ran my own cPanel server for a while - self built and self hosted, and it was really hard. Even with 15+ years experience as a sysadmin I found it a big challenge keeping on top of security and other complications.
