I have had ongoing issues with current host - can't mention their name as was near banned last time I did, so lets call them HOTAIR. I have a low traffic site - less than 100 hits per day, and a few plugins, all which HOTAIR told me to install, now my site does not load due to resource restrictions.

Anyway, could anyone suggest another host - I have recently backed up and looking to move on. I need names and prices. Thanks in advance.

THe best way to host is using for example Contabo for cheap and good VPS and Runcloud for panel. Easy one click installs, management and cheap as hell.

Never done anything other than pay hosting company, is this difficult to set up?

Who was going to ban you if you mention the hosting name here? BHW or the web host?

Do the web host has a marketplace thread here?

BHW. A while ago I had a rant about them, they deleted the thread (no particularly what I said, but others), then I got a threatening message. So I tread carefully now.

Chemicloud. Not affiliated in any way. Been running them for over 2 years now without any hiccups and support is immediate.

I can't recommend them enough tbh.

I'm using Hostinger for almost 2 years. Customer Service usually responds quite quickly.
The price is now 2$/month.

I suggest trying hawk host /host nine. These hostings are affordable and come with speedy customer support. You can switch to reliable hosting according to your budget as soon as your traffic increases considerably.

I have now moved from HOTAIR host to ChemiCloud and all seems ok.

Here is the story. About a month ago I got notifications that the site was down for 10min and then 15 mins here and there, contacted host and after jumping through dozens of hoops they found it was doing to a DDOS attack, this after blaming plugin ins that were taking up resources (incidentally these were the same security plugins the the host told me to install).

Anyway, that issue got resolved as they blacklisted the attacking IP, the following week the site was down 90% of the day and again I had to jump through all the blaming the plugin hoops to find it was again a DDOS, but for some reason they could not resolve and said I needed to get a developer to sort the issue.

I asked what exactly was taking up the resources, they pointed to 3 plugins I had running, I stopped them all, but still the site was down 90% of the day, I asked again they said they could not tell what the problem was and I needed a developer to sort it out.

It may be worth noting that I had not changed anything on the site in months, all plugins and WP was up to date and the host and I ran malware scans showing no problems.

Long story short, I backed up and moved host and not having any resource drains (checked via Cpanel).

Any thoughts on what the issue could have been, as same site is running else where without issue?

Early days so can't comment on new host, but I can now login and edit a post without having a "resource limit is reached" message, which had been the case for years.

WPX, not the cheapest but found them to be the best for a hands-off hosting company.

If shared or managed hosting fails you again, you can always turn to the likes of Vultr or Digital Ocean or Linode. These days it's way easier to get it going that it was before.

Do you use Cloudflare? Even free plan would prevent such a basic issues, ddos or page availability.
