Hosting + Priate WhoIs?

I use Mediatemple but its a little bit more expensive then the baby pack at hostgator I pay about 20 bucks a month but I have never had any problems. I am not sure exactly what are the limits but I run acout 22 websites off a gridhost account and am nowhere near the limits.

So no GoDaddy, no 1and1, no HostGator

What is left out there =/

All I need my site for now is for a squeeze page
Then I will have some information there, but nothing illegal, or big scripts, or anything that should take a lot of space

=/ I never heard of it

Nooooo, not ace-host. I've been with them for 5 years, they're awful now. Look at their site for goodness sake. Horrible. Just horrible. Just get hostgater. You wont be needing more than 1gb of space or 1gb of bandwidth anyways.

best for domain is namecheap, cheapest will be hostgator for me, thats the lowest i wanna go with a decent support

Alright, so HostGator + NameCheap, thanks a lot guys!

dude i would definitely look around more... iweb.com is an awesome host, i have been with them for a year now and i havnt had any problems with them, they have a 30 day money back guarantee, alot more space than you'll ever use and amazing customer service. Pretty much the best in my opinion, but they do not have whoisguard but that doesnt matter because you can just fake your information.

yeah, their main web-page stinks but their email support is super fast.
ace-host answers my emails within 9 minutes, while gator takes a few hours.

also i don't like the way gator accuses you of doing things and then shuts
down your whole site until you *prove* you didn't do anything! it's like having the sword of damacles over your head. as soon as i find a better host i'm dropping gator like a hot turd.

Yeah you're right. Their support is really fast. But I just left them this month because their plans are awful. They said it was going to cost me $4 extra per month to add the ability to use 2 domains. Sucks!

I have news for you... any unlimited shared hosting is fraud, as quoted before. If you don't believe me, upload a script that uses 25 % of the server resources and watch how fast your account will be suspended.

It has happened to me many times. With that in mind, for blackhat stuff, webthosting is pretty good... only like 3.99 per month and domain privacy included with domain purchases. However, they are a new company that is using Dedi's from LeaseWeb. They have alot of security issues, sometimes service is slow, etc. Like I said, good for blackhat pages.

I recommend that anyone considering using a "bulletproof" hosting service or similar to actually check the whois of the server that the hosts website is on. If they are in the us offering bulk mail hosting, warez hosting or black hat hosting, 99% of the time it's a scam with someone who just opened a reseller account with the cheapest host they can find. You will get shut down and lose your cash.

Spend a little time and locate where the datacenter is and check out the company. Search forums and do your homework on the company.

Two of the best known "affordable" ones that I have found is Leaseweb and prq.se with prq having the best rep for keeping your site up. However, they don't take kindly to running xrumer or mailing.

There are "do anything" hosts based in russia, but I can find better uses for $3200.00 per month

For those interested in mailing or xrumer, I recommend reading spamhaus articles and find out what the other guys are using. Then find the host companies website and buy from them... It's usually in chinese, but google translate helps! You can also use the sourcecode of the page to help you figure out what to enter in forms, etc.

One more thing, even with a private "whois", if a us hosting company gets a subpoena or a threat of a lawsuit, they will drop a dime on you instantly! When you change countries, you change jurisdictions and make life much more difficult for those who want to piss in your pool.

Just my 2 cents... feel free to correct me if im wrong.
