Hi guys,

I've coded a website offline a week ago using html, css and javascript. I've also bought a domain name from go daddy and a hosting account in hostgator. I've transferred the domain name to hostgator and it will be live, hopefully, tomorrow. I've also installed the "quickinstall" to have a wp-admin on my hosting account (just in case it is needed) and now I am lost.

I basically want my coded offline website to be live and hosted at hostgator. How am I suppose to do it? I've search and search and till now, I can't find posts that will help me. Am I suppose to upload it at public html? I really don't know what to do next. If you have guides how to do it, please share it below. thanks. :)

Yes, you can use filezilla to upload your site. Upload them to the public html folder and you're set.

There are many tutorials on how you can do this on youtube by the way.

thanks. looking for videos now. What if I decided to add new articles? Or new pages? Will I manually code it again? Or is there any way to make it automatic so that when I add articles or pages, I just enter the texts in the title and body and its ok.

You have to upload all your files and point your ns1 and ns2 to hostgator they will give you info about it anyway.

As far as getting your content online goes, rsync is much better option than ftp. Google for "Using Rsync to Transfer Files to Your HostGator Account" (with quotes included) as I can't post links yet.

Thanks guys for all the help. At last, my site is now online. :)
