For those of you who have sites that are hitting rather large numbers in monthly traffic, what hosting do you use, and why do you like it? Looking for hosting for a large project I am about to begin on and would rather have the right hosting from the beginning, than figure out later on that I went with the wrong one.

If your site is big and earning good move to cloudfare, incapsula or softlayer

You say "move to". Are you suggesting that I start with a smaller company at first and then move to these when I grow big enough? Or do you think I should start with these from the beginning?

I don't know how you can be sure that your business would succeed.. Even assuming that you have the God given gift of knowing the future, why to spend money when you don't need to. Start with a business account.. as you will get a free ssl, toll free number and a dedicated ip.. Your website for any outsider or bot will appear to be a professional one.. Once you cross the threshold traffic limit, you can upgrade to a VPS and then to a dedicated server.. that way you could save thousands of dollars..

Just my 2 cents

If I were you, I would give HostDepot a try. It is time-tested US web host that has been providing hosting services since 1997.
Really great service! It's unbelievable to get such great service at such a cheap price. Here is your new coupon code for 50% off at time of order for most hosting and email products: WML35M1HRC

In order to not repeat my self please ref to my post here http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/web-hosting/811153-best-offshore-hosting-2015-a.html#post8524380 where I'm recommending http://www.linuxssdvps.com to another guy. Same reasons. Stable , fast and secure offshore provider.

Amazon cloud so you only pay for what you use. Then cloud flare cache as much as possible with their page rules and minifiers :-)

LOL it's funny how these 'new' members promote their services. Simply get a VPS with low configuration plus combine it with Cloudflare and you're good to go for a while. As your traffic increases, just upgrade your VPS (or eventually move to a dedicated server if a VPS can't handle your site anymore).

I agree. I am a webhost provider, but I try to provide the best option even if it isnt mine. I would suggest that he went with unmanaged if at all possible. Digitalocean and linode are the best option for this as they have a super long history for providing a great product. Use CentminMod script (LEMP Stack), itll practically setup the website for you.

Hello!
I have been using PCmag for 3 years for my sites and it is working very effectively and efficiently. I like this because it provides complete access to the site with out any trouble.

for the sites that demands heavy traffic than your concern should be on bandwidth and for the computer resources that are needed to respond to all the HTTP requests that come in.

The very large sites with millions of page views actually deal with the high traffic, so i suggest a dedicated server or VPS with High bandwidth.

I can also recommend you to contact Kvchosting.com team, tell them your requirements and see what they can offer to you.
Their hosting packages include a full list of features that provides everything you need plus plenty of room for growth.
