Sorry if this question has been asked before/is stupid, but what hosting plan do you use for clients websites - ie business plan or reseller? I am using the business plan with add-on domains (don't have that many clients yet) but I don't know if I should be getting reseller instead? Hostgator allows unlimited add-on domains so that's not a problem but if someone asks for ftp access then what? What hosting plan do you guys use?

i use my own servers as there are no bad neighborhood hosted on same ip

First of, what's the difference between a business plan and a reseller plan?

You should never host the clients as addons because should one's site get compromised then the whole account can get affected.

It should be with Reseller Plan because your client will have their own panel to do whatever with their site. Especially, it's easier to manage their sites.

I personally use reseller and it is great. It is more expensive but its much better when you are hosting a lot of clients. The hostgator reseller gives you a lot of features like WHM and a free license to WHMCS which makes managing clients infinitely easier. You are able to set bandwidth limits, storage limits, etc.

If they know their stuff, reseller account is better cos they have their own cpanel, etc.. If you are going to do most of the technical work (if they know nothing about websites bascially) then you can have a jumbo account and host all on there although as junkfood mentioned its putting all your eggs in one basket (well.. all your websites in one host)
