Hosting for 100k+ visitor blog

Check Rocket.Net you get CloudFlare Enterprise included, 250K visits for $30 a month, thats value for the money with speed.

Depends the technology - probably you are using wordpress
If you want to have hiper turbo response, get interested how to make static html blog. There are tools for building such sites.
Then you need any cheap hosting + cloudflare for caching. Cost is going to some symbolic

usually, a VPS should be more than enough for this,
that would also depend on the website required resources as well,
Vultr and DO are pretty quick, if you need more resources you should go with contabo

Cloudways, if you want support for the VPS you choose (can pick from many good providers, DO, Vultr, Linode, etc.)

Vultr HF VPS's, last I checked, were the quickest around a couple of months back for Cloud Hosting VPS.

You can always get a third-party manager for your VPS if you don't want Cloudways.

I've been with WP Engine, and other higher-end hosts and Vultr HF VPS are just insane for their price.

Guys, I've decided on going ahead with DigitalOcean.

But the thing is that this is the first time I'm hosting a site on VPS. I'm afraid I'll mess it up.

I'm doing a test site migration on a small DO droplet to see how it goes.

Checklist:


- Setup the droplet with OpenLiteSpeed+WP one click installation.
- Follow the basic Linux server hardening guidelines like not using root to login, ufw rules etc
- Setup the domain on VPS + LetsEncrypt
- Change the domain NS to point to DO
- Migrate WP using Duplicator plugin

If you guys have any other tips, I'd appreciate your help. I've been reading around the web about this and I understand that this is SysAdmin is an entire stream of learning. But I with to learn enough to securely host my sites.

Any web guides or tuts are welcome too

I am always using WPX, I am vey much satisfied with there service.

Hostarmada is crap.
All websites went down without notice and explanation.
They are throwing in bazillion people on the same servers during this blackfirday.
A recipe for disaster.
