Has anybody here managed to host a .de domain on a non german host?

I've got a german domain but none of my "english speaking" hosting companies will take it.

Godaddy claim that all the hosting companies I use are unfit to host .de domains.

I need to get another host anyway for other domains as-well, so can anybody tell me:

Is there a non german host that will take .de domains?

Hey there,
i am german and so most of my domains are .de
The problem for companies outside germany is they need a german adress/branch that is responsible for managing the domain. We have very strict laws in germany and every of our websites needs a contact page with full name, phone, email, adress, tax id. No exceptions!
That's only to make this clear to everyone who reads your request and won't figure out why all of the companies refuse to take the domain.
I personally don't have a recommendation for you right now but if i run into one i'll tell you, yo!

So, if you don't have a German address, you can't run a German domain?

i live in germany and have some of german .de domains too, I tried to move my german domain to godaddy... it is not possible. But you can buy a new .de domain @godaddy.

I personally try to avoid .de domains because here are a lot of crazy lawyers which want to kill your business for any kind of nothing... (its madness)

What about mediaon? They seem to be a good hosting company which will also protect all of your domains... http://www.mediaon.com/Real-Whois-Protection
