So i moved some domains to hostgator just checked and what i all domains are pointing to searchportal.information.com. I was like wtf did quick check and yea ip belongs to hostgator.
Any experience with this?

Did you point your nameservers to your new host?

Yea nameservers are pointed more than24 hours ago. Im going to think that it can be the reason maybe it takes a bit longer.

There have been a few (not many) times when it took about 48 hrs for my domains to resolve with HG.

After 48hrs I would check with HG if still not done.

you are seeing that page because the names point to HG nameservers and that is there default page so they can make money of the parking.

Addon the domains and the page goes away. Look at the domain that is the primary you signed up with, bet it doesnt show that page and shows the grey welcome page.

You should have contacted tech support. From my experience, they have helped me numerous times. They're online 27/7.

++ on making sure that you have added the domains on your account. Without that, there is nothing for hostgators DNS servers to point them to except their landing pages.

That said, you should not have to wait 48hrs for DNS to propagate. If you are seeing their parked domain pages, then DNS has propagated already.

On a related note, today I just threw in the towel with shared-hosting.

There is always something or another going wrong. Either the hosts themselves do something stupid, or some other bozo on your server runs some stupid scripts that bring the servers down. And the hassle of having to remember oodles of passwords for panel-this and panel-that and phpmyadmin-there. Grrr. And don't get me started on the veracity or lack thereof of most of their backups.

In the last two years, I have managed to pick fights with almost a dozen different hosting companies for my sites, and for client sites.

Most recent host managed to hose *both* DNS server at once. And it happened again last night. WTF!?!? So, not only were the websites fubared, but all the emails (via googlemail for domains) were nixxed too. Grrrr.

From now on, I am sticking to VPS and Dedicated. It might seem a bit more expensive, but damn, it sure is worth it. Plus, I will only manage DNS from the registrar (Name.com & GoDaddy for the legacy stuff). Soooooo much easier and solid.

At least on my own server, I am responsible for keeping my sites going. As long as there's power and a net connection, I am good.

Did you added the domain to your cpanel ?? Once you do that you can edit the page the way you like.

Nameservers changed more than 24 hours ago.
Yes added domains through cpanel and websites are uploaded.
Checked where to hell my domain points. Ip belongs to hostgator but its not the ip of my server whole ip is same except last part my server ends with 99 but it ends with 98.
So im 100% sure that those bastards are just making some extra $$$ by parking my domains.

How much extra would they make actually? I've been with Hostgator a long time and god they have been awesome for me. Especially with their 24/7 support.

Contact their support and I'm sure they'll help you.

Usually DNS takes ~24hours to prog. So yeah, check with support.

i bet ur names are not super so they are not making money from them for 1
your nameservers are wrong then
check your welcome email and make sure

goto pagewash.com and load the page and then it might be you didnt clear your cache cntl-F5 will do hard refresh

HostGator has been doing this crap for a while. They are trying to profit off your existing traffic and will keep it like this for as long as they can. I would immediately contact tech support and start bitching about it. Also, send the owner (brent @ hostgator) an email and raise hell with him as well.

They've been oversold for years and once you start to actually use a box, they'll take it down. It's only cheap in the ad much like dreamhost.

This is first time for me as well newer saw it before.

man, even though I use HG as my host and I would recommend them to anyone I know, I keep my domains on GoDaddy and my websites on HG.

this works for me best.

I'm with StableHost after I order a domain with godaddy I have a live site up within 15 minutes.
