Hostgator - What happened?

I know someone posted about using aheadhost but it always worried me going with a small host. I know I will likely shot down here but a host like OVH with their DDoS protection fills me with the warm and fuzzies knowing that they are highly unlikely to go under and leave me in the lurch with no warning.

I am not saying that any host doing business through this forum would do this but it does concern me.

Back on topic: Can't you do a Paypal dispute and claim that they refuse to setup the account and you no longer want it so money back is due. I generally prefer to stay away from the dispute process but if they are not wanting to play ball it is always an option.

That sounds like an incredible deal, especially if you don't need a host with tons of traffic and space.

I wasted so many hours the last 3 years trying to get namecheap deals I haven't even bothered this time.

I, personally, have been using HostGator since 2011 or so and I still use it.

Ever since hostgator got bought by EIG hosting, their service went downhill. Don't know EIG hosting? Google it. You'll be surprised by how many hosting services they own. Your host might be one of them... lol...

Wow! I just Googled, actually. As long as 1&1 is not amongst that list, I think I'll keep my account active ...
