Hostgator suspended my site.

I apologize but we have just been forced to suspend a WordPress site under your account since its MySQL queries were using an excessive amount of system resources and were causing problems for other users on the server. WordPress stores essentially all of its content in its MySQL database which requires it to perform queries for every page that users browse. Because of this, the best solution to reduce system resource usage is typically to install a caching plug-in of some sort that will allow your scripts to load pages without performing any queries.

Currently, We recommend using either "W3 Total Cache" or "DB Cache Reloaded". The W3 plug-in caches the results of essentially all the requests for your site, making it ideal for sites with a large number of pages. DB Cache Reloaded only caches database queries which can be more useful for sites where you are more likely to have a large number of users all visiting the same few pages at once.

Additionally, if you are using the YARP (Yet Another Related Posts) plug-in, we strongly recommend disabling it or tagging plug-ins and then cleaning your database of the large amount of data they add. Another option would be to disable the "Consideration of Tags" option. YARP and other tagging plug-ins generally create large tables for a small amount and are often responsible for a large portion of the total usage as they do look-ups and continue to add tags and other data.

Finally, another problematic plug-in disable is WP-Statpress or similar plug-ins. As this keeps track of a lot of data about your current visitors, if you have a lot of traffic, this can cause much additional CPU usage.

Question is, does YARP really have to do something with this issue???
My settings in Statpress only saves Data for a month.

I have wp-cache installed
The site they suspended have low traffic...
My other sites uses the same plugins

Anyone encountered this??

yeah got the same mail few days back for one of my sites.. for me the problematic plugins were YARP and SexyBookmarks..

YARP can cause this problem if your site has lots of posts and tags, in my case I disabled the plugins and my site was up again within few hours

you can send them your ip address and they will allow you to log in and make the necessary adjustments to your site. try to remove yarp and statpress cos they take much resources and install dbcache or w3. they will unsuspend you after your changes. i hope that helps

I moved away from hostgator years ago. you would be better getting a dedicated from someone else.

Everybody always says how great Hostgator is but I had nothing but problems with them as they would suspend sites of mine once the sites were getting lots of traffic and making me money. It pissed me off. I finally got rid of them about a year ago and have never had the same sites suspended from other hosts. In my opinion, Hostgator is good for new sites that don't get traffic. Once you start getting traffic and making some sort of money, the site ends up getting suspended because of "using too many resources" - got so sick of hearing that crap.

Anyway, to the Op - it is time to move on to another Host.

HG is still good, however you should know how to reduce cpu or mysql usage if you got too many traffic. I already leave hostgator because I got too many visitor, now i use vps and dedicated.

Was it an autoblog? Autoblogs take up a shitload of resources and often get suspended by hosts.

I haven't had much problems with Hostgator really. Even at somepoint i handled over 60k cookies a day for hungry people and they did not complain this went on for few months. But then at somepoint they deleted the folder without asking i think i know the reason but thats not important

Overall, for what you pay, Hostgator are a dream! (especially when compared to the other hosts I've experienced over the years). 24 hour live support is excellent, they are helpful and know what they are doing. I've had other hosts where they don't reply for a couple of days if your site has gone down or answer the phone.

However, I did receive one of these emails too. Very strange. I had a new blog, 50 visitors per day. I have the Unlimited Package (shared) - $15 per month. I got exactly the same email as you....but, I have another website, quite big, 10,000 visitors a day, running on the same account. They left that one running. That website had been using more bandwidth than ever. Looks to me like sometimes they accuse the wrong website of being a trouble-maker, which in my case was a huge relief.

So, I installed W3 Total Cache on the tiny site, showed them I had done it, and all has been fine since

Well, if I compare HG to the host I come from, HG is king for me! I got a VPS + a Reseller account with them, and up till now, no complaints! Excellent support, whenever you need it.

However, if the time arrives, which I surely hope won't, and I have to look for a better option, that's it!
