So I contact support, and they tell me:

Thank you for being on hold. I have checked your account and it is confirmed that the server on which your account is hosted is currently under maintenance for increasing the performance. Our admins are working on reducing the server load and getting the server back to full functionality. It may take a while to get this resolved.

Well thanks a lot for informing me beforehand. And thanks a lot for not being vague about how long it will take to get things up and running again.

And I suspect it's not scheduled maintenance to increase performance. I suspect it's a bug or something. So I suspect they lied to me about that too.

For some reason, every time things are good and calm in my life, hostgator just does some shit to alarm me and disturb my peace.

I wish I was in a coma :D

This is why I moved to unmanaged dedicated servers 10 years ago. I can’t stand dealing with shared (or any) hosting providers.

What's unmanaged dedicated servers? How many thousands of dollars do you pay per month for that? o_O

Yeah, hard to do that when you paid like $130 for 3 years of hosting with like 75% discount on Black Friday :cool::anyway::suspicious::alien:

Unmanaged means no one helps you when you have a problem. You are the system admin.

because of that it’s also cheaper. Most of my servers are between $80-120 a month. Cheap, modern hardware.

Last year, i brought a samsung s21 for $49 with BlackFriday Discounts + Coupons and everything else
brand freaking new, and 4 weeks later, told them the phone was shit, battery issues etc, and made them refund me $700 for it and brought myself the pixel 6 pro
told them, those coupons are mine, making me waste it on a pos phone, refund me for them too :D :eek:

I used to be super broke, and I don't wanna be super broke ever again, but seeing as I don't make $10k/day, I need to be careful with how I spend my money :)

Vultr High-Frequency plan starts at $6 p/month and it´s freaking fast.

I know WPX is freaking fast as well but is $25 p/month and you get more storage and bandwidth on Vultr.

Im factoring in for him to pay an extra $19 is because he paying for them to deal with all his issues :)
Imagine what would happen to the forum if he is on a self-manage host :eek:
 
HG will send you an email if there is any scheduled maintenance. I used HG for 7 years when the traffic increased they suspended my account and gave the reason that you are using our resources. I moved to the Reseller account and was okay but the server was going offline frequently.

I left HG 4 years ago and now I am happy.

HG is for starters and newbies.
