hostgator reseller account

how many websites can i host with the $25 package?

just simple wordpress sites with a few websites and pictures?

i'm hosting 150 sites on the same package at the moment, no idea what the max is though sorry

Been with HG a few years now from single parent domain evolved to reseller package. I do not resell, just use it for managing my sites. I think what you will enjoy is being able to organize your growth by creating new accounts. No need to wade through 20 or 100 addon or subdomains in file mgr. Just put one to three per account. Huge time saver.

HG hates spikes even with reseller accounts though. Think about timing any crons (autoblogs, autopostings, mailings, etc) and traffic to balance the entire reseller account. Maybe even do like I do and host your auto blogs and directories elsewhere, and keep your money sites at HG for the dependability, and plan your growth as such.

I've run up to 70-80 domains that way, but at the same time was able to crash a server with only a poorly coded crappy article directory script and a dozen or so WP blogs about two years ago.

Not hijacking the thread. Got a P M regarding this and cannot reply cause of post count. Autoblogs can create quite a load if posts trigger lots of pluggins like related posts, trackback generators, comment generators, tweet postings,... You get the idea. These all create load just like traffic spikes. If you follow the expert threads on autoblogs and keep this in mind you may be fine. Again like the experts say, if you want to run lots of auto blogs or pluggin heavy ones, think Lunar or others.

Search, homework, and testing are your friends.

Do you get separate IPs and non sequential with the 25 accounts on reseller? My concern is I have sites on the same dedicated server with another host. I want to prevent someone from doing a reverse IP and seeing all my sites. So I'd like to have separate sites on separate IPs and non sequential and don't care if these IPs are shared.

Edit: I found out you can't do this with the reseller automatically. You have to buy each IP. Still not too bad and they end up being dedicated. Unless someone has a better idea?
