Hostgator, like other providers, offer 99.9% uptime...


The factors to:

Downtime Per Year Allowance: 8.76 hours
Downtime Per Year Month Allowance: 43.8 minutes
Downtime Per Week Allowance: 10.1 minutes

These numbers are for the individual increments, not to be combined

i just checked my site and it goes to mydomain.com/wp-admin/install.php. does that mean my site is gone?

Mine was up and then went back down again, supposedly coming back up within the next hour. We'll see I guess, with this downtime they are offering me less than they guarentee on downtime so if it lasts longer than they suggest I will be getting a refund and moving on to a different host.

Check phpMyAdmin or the equivalent and see if your database is still there, if not, then you may have a problem.
