I will stay with hostgator even though there was some downtime. I have too many domains and too many shared accounts to even fathom wanting to move. Overall they are good to me and the uptime compared to this downtime is acceptable. I will probably get some type of reimbursement via my contact but regardless I am going to stay.
I run backups on another server with another company. If I never had backups and lost my data I probably would jump in front of a train
Looks like someone needs to learn to write more efficient code.
Or realise hosting spend and penis size aren't correlated.

Something is going on. Bluehost, HostGator and HostMonster were down and are still off and on. My sites have been up and down all day with hostgator Dedicated Server in Provo. Now Godaddy is starting to have hosting issues. No one will answer phones. Called GoDaddy and they have a message stating they are aware of the hosting problems.
Real Conversation that happened today....
Me: Hey Boss, do we use HostGator for anything?
Boss: Nope
Me: Okay, Good
*4 hours later*
Boss: ZOMG WHY IS THIS CLIENT'S SITE DOWN! GAH HOSTGATOR!
Me: HostGator's been having issues all day boss.... that's why I asked.
Boss: Oh..... Well okay then...
