Host Recommendation

I have a website that is an eCommerce site, that also has a content side to it. We average around 1000 hits a day, so nothing insane, but it is likely that will scale up to 5000 a day fairly soon once we start putting out content on a regular basis again.

I am using GoDaddy but it is terribly slow, who would you guys recommend I switch over to and do companies usually offer to handle migration for free? One of my friends uses Beyond Hosting but it seems over kill for my needs. Another friend recommended A2Hosting, but I have never heard of them and their site is a bit ghetto, especially given they sell hosting.

you can use namecheap. I have used it. It's good and cheap.
 
Search for poweruphosting here on BHW they are good and being on BHW can give you a discount.
 
Crocweb. As good as it gets. I've never waited longer than 5 minutes for a support response. To be honest though I haven't had to use it much. No need. They are just damn good. Can't remember the last time a site was down.

I have LOTS of sites so not the same needs as you but I'm sure you could find something that works in their plans. Literally the best host I've ever had. Can't say more than that.

P.S. They transferred over DOZENS of sites for me when I switched to them in the middle of last year. All for free and without a hitch. Customer service is as good as it gets there.

Namecheap and HostGator are both decent and worth considering, too.
 
Hostgator and Godaddy are both standard and fine. Personally, I would go with hostgator.
 
Endurance International Group (EIG) hosting, such as Hostgator is not on my list of hosting companies I would use, except for churn & burn sites.
 
I'd recommend poweruphosting. Reliable and fast. Get the ssd if you can.

I am using shark servers you can find here on BHW i can post link because i dont have enough posts
 
I'm a little hesitant to use some of the providers in the BHW marketplace because I've had very hit & miss luck with providers in general on BHW. Plus the terrible english/spelling on some of the aforementioned BHW providers makes me a little uneasy.

I actually have another two sites that get around 100k each a month in hits. At what point do you guys think it's worth just getting a dedicated server and throwing all three sites on one server? The other sites are growing quite fast. One is a news site and the other is nothing but a landing page with a checkout button; however, it is going to be launching a content side soon too.

I would say shoot right away for the dedi, mate. There is no point in waiting if you're in the 6 digits with organic traffic to have websites on a shared hosting server.

I'm using Godaddy as well, and they working fine for me and fast, It may be your specific hosting plan limitation.
 
To be honest those big providers like Justhost,Bluehost,organweb etc Are really SHIT WEB hosting providers as those are from SAME one Group above mentioned.

I really recommend to go with Less popular but Good hosting providers who owns datacenter and have own team NOT TOO MUCH POPULAR and FAMOUSE which makes service Dump.

Also make sure to review history of providers before switch if you want my personal advice i can recommend some thing.
 
I feel sympathy for people who thinks godaddy or hostgator are "decent" hosting options. My recommendations would be

- WP Engine if you're using wordpress. It is really, I mean really smooth. They are a bit pricey though. They had a coupon for 4$ a month for the first three.

- MDD Hosting, I used them for 6 months, solid hosting, great support.
